production a+f (2017)
Production a+f is a work for radio commissioned by documenta14 radio as part of the broadcast program "Every Time A Ear di Soun," curated by Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung and Marcus Gammel. Incorporating elements from recent works including Free Exercise and Deathstar, improvised electronics and field recordings from the Lower East Side of New York around the artist's studio, and various locations in Germany. Production a+f invited the radio listener to engage in a set of musical exercises testing the limits, distributed across multiple locations and in the absence of bodily contact, of rhythmic and melodic unisons. It was broadcast from April 8 to September 17, 2017, on the following radio stations: Paranoise Radio, Thessaloniki, Greece; Cannibal Radio, Athens, Greece; Vokaribe Radio, Barranquilla, Colombia; RSI (Radio Sport Info), Douala, Cameroon; Rádio MEC, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; RURUradio, Jakarta, Indonesia; SAVVY Funk, Berlin, Germany; Radio Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon; WPFW 89.3, Washington, D.C., USA; and Deutschlandfunk Kultur, Berlin, Germany.
